Take a deep breath. I know it feels like you can’t breathe in deeply enough – but I promise you can. Breathe in. Let the air flow to your fingers and toes. Now breathe out. There you go.
You are okay.
You. Are. Okay.
And you are loved.
I know it feels like there are a million thoughts swirling around you like a tornado. You feel like you can’t stop thinking about them because if you do, something bad will happen. You want to make sure everything is okay, everything is right, and you’re doing everything you’re supposed to do. You’re racing to keep up.
I know you’re afraid you’ll fail or let someone down or that something bad will happen if you don’t think through every possibility.
But I promise you are okay. Remember that worrying doesn’t actually change anything. It seems like it might… Like if you chase those thoughts around and around and around then everything will be alright. But I can tell you that everything WILL be alright.
I know you’re just trying to help and I appreciate you. But it’s not up to you. You can take a break.
Take a breath.
